First Night

After a really, really, really long drive, we are finally home in Blum!

The lightweight panels I ordered last week are here, and we’ve started building a round pen and a temporary paddock to house the mares until I get real accommodations figured out.

As we were putting up the temporary shelter in the grey mare’s paddock, a storm rolled up. The wind caught the tarp like a parachute, and we tried to use that to fling the sheet over the frame. It almost worked, but busted the frame apart. Every time we went to reassemble one section, another one popped apart. It was like the 3 Stooges, a comedy of errors. Finally, we got it together and stayed in there dry from the rain for a long time.
